"Could great fashion start with a pineapple?"
Pineapples are grown for food, after which the residual leaf waste gets harvested and collected for fiber extraction.
Then the pineapple leaf fibre is mechanically processed into company's textile-grade Anam PALF (their patented pineapple leaf fibre) and is blended with other plant-based fibres.
That fibre blend is next spun into Piñayarn through a dry spinning process. The yarn cones are further provided to manufacturers, brands and designers for them to create textiles out of it.
The company's newly established global distribution centre for worldwide shipping of the materials, Ananas Anam España is now located just outside of Barcelona, Spain!
